Dr. Parisa Jalalat is a board-certified optometrist in Los Angeles, CA. She takes an integrative approach to eye care, focused on the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Parisa believes our eyes are the most precious sense that we have and is passionate about helping her patients preserve, manage, and treat their eyes and vision to improve their quality of life. Her eye care philosophy includes connecting with patients and tailoring her approach to their unique visual needs and lifestyle demands. She takes the time to educate her patients about their eye health and how to optimize their vision, empowering them to make informed decisions.
Dr. Parisa has extensive experience in performing comprehensive eye exams including glasses and contact lens exams, fitting specialty contact lenses, performing diabetic eye exams, treating ocular diseases like glaucoma and eye infections, and co-managing eye surgeries like LASIK and cataract surgeries.
Dr. Parisa is dedicated to modernizing the eyecare experience by implementing cutting-edge technologies and techniques into practice at Beverly Hills Optometry, especially when treating ocular surface diseases like dry eye syndrome. Her experience in running FDA clinical trials in dry eye and demodex blepharitis treatments, co-authoring a peer-reviewed journal publication, presenting research at academy conferences, and speaking engagements have enhanced her ability to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the eyecare field.
Dr. Parisa grew up in Houston, Texas, and received her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Texas in Austin. She received an additional B.S. in Vision Science and a Doctorate of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University - College of Optometry (NSUCO) in south Florida. She enjoys giving back to the community and has provided voluntary eye care overseas in an underserved demographic in the Dominican Republic.
Due to Dr. Parisa’s special interest in advocating for healthy and safe eye cosmetics and beauty practices, she has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, POPSUGAR., and Well + Good. When not caring for patients’ eyes and creating educational social media content, you can find Dr. Parisa doing yoga, exploring the city to find new places to eat, traveling around the world, road tripping up and down the PCH, hiking, biking, roller skating along the beach boardwalk, and spending quality time with her loved ones and dog.
She is also fluent in English, conversational Farsi (Persian), and basic conversational/clinical Spanish.
